Antimicrobial copper products will be showcased by Cu+ partner companies at Arab Health 2015, taking place 26–29 January at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The items on offer will include anaesthesia and endoscopy carts, bed and stretcher rails, chairs, instrument tables, operating lights and overbed tables. Antimicrobial copper brochures from the Copper Alliance will also be available to provide supporting information on the science and applications of antimicrobial copper products.
ALVO Medical, on Stand S1C45, offer a range of medical furniture with antimicrobial copper fittings and touch surfaces, including medical carts, lights and overbed tables. The company has cooperated with many renowned producers on turnkey projects in the field of construction and the modernisation of operating theatres.
Famed Zywiec, exhibiting on Stand 3A35, offers antimicrobial copper bed and stretcher rails. Founded in 1867, the company is now part of the Famed group of Polish medical equipment manufacturers, aiming to provide medical equipment that offers an optimal balance of reliability, performance and affordability.
From Finland, the Hygiene Concept Consortium – including Isku Interior Oy and Merivaara – are on Stand 4F10. Isku supplies antimicrobial copper services including advice, product specification and supply, and also produces chairs, tables and other free-standing furniture with antimicrobial copper touch surfaces. Merivaara offers beds with mill-finished copper rails.

Copper and certain copper alloys have intrinsic antimicrobial properties (so-called ‘Antimicrobial Copper’) and products made from these materials have an additional, secondary benefit of contributing to hygienic design. Products made from Antimicrobial Copper are a supplement to, not a substitute for standard infection control practices. It is essential that current hygiene practices are continued, including those related to the cleaning and disinfection of environmental surfaces.
