Conditions of Use

Download the eligibility criteria and contact us to apply to use the Antimicrobial Copper brand and marks.

As the global industry representative, the International Copper Association (ICA) working with New York based Copper Development Association Inc (CDA) has established a Brand containing both Service and Certification Marks.  The Antimicrobial Copper Marks ensure that International Copper Association, and its global network of Copper Centers, address our stewardship with regard to the deployment of copper and copper alloys in the field.

The use of the Antimicrobial Copper Marks by an organization indicates that ICA and CDA has given permission to do so based upon their adherence to particular rules outlined in the Conditions of Use.  These rules guide that organization's understanding of the underlying technology and the way they promote, advise and deploy it in line with existing research, regulatory and legislative requirements.

The Marks are designed to highlight accredited Antimicrobial Copper products and suppliers and to assist specifiers and end users in procurement of products and services.

*Laboratory testing shows that, when cleaned regularly, antimicrobial copper surfaces kill greater than 99.9% of the following bacteria within 2 hours of exposure: MRSA, VRE, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterobacter aerogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and E. coli O157:H7. Antimicrobial copper surfaces are a supplement to and not a substitute for standard infection control practices and have been shown to reduce microbial contamination, but do not necessarily prevent cross contamination or infections; users must continue to follow all current infection control practices.
